* A note on live animals

Dodeka Polemistes welcomes members to bring animals with them to event if the animal is accurate to those which appear in Greek mythology such as dogs, horses, cats, and various historically accurate livestock to Eastern Mediterranean livestock traditions. However, please be aware of local laws and customs related to the presence and use of animals- and please keep in mind the safety and well-being of any animals used during Dodeka Polemistes sanctioned events. Additionally, ancient cavalry often rode horses to battlefields and fought on foot; so members wishing to portray mounted Amazons are not required to have a horse as part of their costume. The following list is a list of approved breeds of dogs members may bring to events based on the breed's existence during the time of Ancient Greece.

- Alopekis (origin: Ancient Greece)

- Basenji (origin: Ancient Libya)

Please be aware of local rules and customs for the use and presence of replica or toy weapons during events.
