Wonder Woman of the Week: Robin Wright

The Wonder Woman this week is an American actress who has appeared in several films and television series, earned several awards and nominations for her roles, and has inspired generations with her work. Robin Wright began her career as a model at only fourteen years old, but began acting at eighteen in daytime television soap operas. Wright exploded into her career however with her performance in The Princess Bride in 1987. Seven years later, the actress appeared in Forrest Gump. Wright then appeared in three more major films over the next eleven years.

In 2013, Robin Wright began working on the Netflix television show House of Cards performing the role of a politician that rises through the ranks to become president. Wright earned several awards for the role including a Golden Globe. In 2017, Wright appeared in the films Wonder Woman and Blade Runner 2049. Outside of acting, Wright is an advocate for human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
