The Wonder Woman this week is remembered as a champion for the rights of actresses in television and a pioneer in bringing diversity to character development to TV in its early days. From her performances on the Dick Van Dyke Show to being the lead role on the Mary Tyler Moore Show; Mary Tyler Moore has become an icon of American pop culture.

In the Mary Tyler Moore Show, the Mary Tyler Moore played the titular character in a show that would inspire three separate spin-offs. The show was also part of a larger women's civil rights movement (which would later be referred to Second Wave Feminism) which would inspire hordes of women to enter the workforce and strive towards earning equal opportunity in the workplace with their male counterparts- a central theme of the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
