Wonder Woman of the Week: Raquel Redshirt

After running this blog for over two years now, my biggest challenge is chosing who should be the Wonder Woman of the Week; not because it's hard to find inspiring women, but because it's hard to choose only one. I constantly have to choose from a list of incredible people and even after doing that, I find one more amazing person that goes beyond all others. Raquel Redshirt is one of those women. Raquel is a Navajo student in high school who has developed a cheap way to produce solar-powered ovens that could revolutionize the way people live, including many Native Americans who live in working class reservations. She recently won an award from Intel's ISEF for her work in solar energy and doesn't plan to stop there. At only 16, Raquel Redshirt is on a path to become a super scientist; planning on studying Environmental Engineering.
