The Wonder Woman this week is someone who struggled with an undiagnosed disability through most of her life, but became one of the greatest agricultural scientists of the 20th Century. Temple Grandin struggled with undiagnosed autism through childhood, but persevered through education to earn several college degrees from prominent universities- including a master's in animals science from Arizona State University and a phd in animal science from the University of Illinois.

Dr Grandin developed a keen mind for understanding animal behavior and used her knowledge to develop ways of assessing animal safety in agriculture. Her work helped alleviate the suffering of factory-raised livestock, increase safety for animals in transport, and increase the quality of life for animals on farms. Grandin also worked with autism researchers to help the world learn more about the thought processes and learning styles of people with autism.
