ITINERARY

Nestled at the mouth of the Columbia River, Astoria, Oregon, is a historic town where the Pacific Ocean meets the wilderness of the American Northwest. Founded in 1811 as the first U.S. settlement west of the Rockies, it is rich in maritime history, often celebrated for its role in the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The surrounding forests, wetlands, and riverbanks are home to diverse wildlife, including sea lions, bald eagles, and migrating salmon. Astoria’s vibrant culture reflects its heritage, blending Native American, European, and maritime influences, celebrated through festivals, art galleries, and museums.

Expedition Team

An Expedition Leader (two for tours with 5 or more total travelers) will accompany this trip, and local guides join you along the way.

Transportation

All of your transportation needs during your stay in Astoria have been arranged as specified in your trip itinerary. When spending time on your own, you may choose to visit a site that requires transportation. If this is the case, your Expedition Leader will happily recommend convenient transportation options.
