They’ve got mismatched shoes, no cardio, and zero coordination—but they’ve got each other.
We’re raising funds to shoot the pilot of “Netball,” a hilarious and heartwarming sports comedy mini-series about a ragtag crew of underdogs trying to save their struggling community gym in Wellington, New Zealand—by entering a local netball tournament they have no business competing in.
From ex-bowlers and part-time baristas to a mum with anger issues and a washed-up former pro, this unlikely team must come together, learn the rules (and how to run without falling over), and find out what it really means to play as one.
Think The Office meets Cool Runnings, with a kiwi twist.
Why We Need Your Support
We’re aiming to raise $25,000 to produce a professional-quality pilot that will serve as our pitch to networks and streamers. Your contributions will fund:
Filming on location in Wellington – think courts, cafes, and community halls
Casting top comedic talent from across Aotearoa & Australia
Authentic netball gear, uniforms, and tournament setups
Cinematography and editing that match the energy of fast-paced comedy
Soundtrack licensing, insurance, and catering (we all know snacks are key)
We want this to be laugh-out-loud funny, but with a real heart behind it—and your support can make that happen.
Perks for Supporters
We’re offering everything from:
Shoutouts in the credits and behind-the-scenes bloopers
Team “Full Court Mess” merch (jerseys, wristbands, tote bags)
Signed script pages, netball “training plans,” and more
Why This Story Matters
“Netball” is about friendship, failure, and the power of community. It’s for anyone who’s ever been picked last, tripped over their own shoelaces, or tried their best when they had no clue what they were doing.
It’s a love letter to local heroes—and to netball, the greatest sport you've never played.
👉 Back us today and help our team hit the court!
With your help, this mess might just become a miracle.
