This week's Wonder Woman is a soccer player that rose from obscurity in minor soccer clubs in Australia and the United States to become one of the greatest soccer players of her generation. Both a staple of Australia's national team and in soccer leagues in both her home country and the United States, Sam Kerr rapidly became a household name in women's soccer following her jump into the pros.

Sam Kerr began playing for Australia's senior national team at only fifteen years old, but her best season with the team came seven years later when she started to become well-known for her skill as an offensive player on the international scene. In the three years leading up to her breakthrough moment, Kerr was playing in two club leagues- one in Australia and one in the United States. In both club leagues, Kerr was making a name for herself as a dangerous athlete- setting a record in 2017 by scoring four goals in a single game to defeat the Seattle Reign who lead the game at halftime 3-0.

In 2018, Sam Kerr earned the NWSL Golden Boot as the best offensive player in the league. Kerr has also earned dozens of other awards for her skill at the sport including top female soccer player from the ESPYs in 2018. Kerr also holds numerous records both at the club level and the international level including most goals in the NWSL- overall, per season, and per game.
